Erben Wennemars (NED) - Sven Kramer (NED)
Friday, November 14th, 2008 18:00
WinterSports - Other

Pick:  Kramer   Result: Pending
Stake:  8/10   Odds:  1.65
Bookmaker:  BWin   vCash: No
Posted: Nov 14, 2008, 15:35

This bet is about the 1.500 m FOR MEN.

Wennemars and Kramer skate in the last pair of this distance.

Wennemars will have a faster start than Kramer.

If these 2 skaters would not skate directly against eachother, I would have doubts about the winner.
But in this situation Kramer exactly knows how to build up his laptimes, in order to finish ahead of Wennemars.
Kramer has the best finishing lap of all participants in the 1.500 meter.
Last week in Berlin the last lap from Kramer was 28 sec, the last lap from Wennemars was 29 sec.
1.65 is a generoud odd.

M. Sablikova - D. Anschutz Thoms

Hello!
A new (ice) speedskating season has begun.
Last weekend, the first World Cup event took place in Berlin.
This weekend, the 2nd one takes place in Heerenveen, Netherlands.

First bet is about the 3.000 meter FOR LADIES.
Last week Sablikova won the 3.000 m with a huge gap.
Number 2 was Anschutz, she skated 3,38 sec. slower.
There is no reason whatsoever that this time Anschutz will do better than Sablikova.
I am comfortable to put 10/10 stakes on this one, so even the odd 1.20 has value.

Results are available later this day here:

Last day of this speedskating season!
this one is about the 1.500 m for MEN, during the world championships per distance.
Until last month, Hedrick would skate a faster time than Elm. But it seems that Hedrick doesn't care about this season anymore since the world championship allround was finished. He had abysmal results in the world cup final and he has abysmal results during this wc per distance. On the 5.000 meter, Elm was even faster than Hedrick! (Hedrick is Olympic champion on the 5k!) Yesterday on the 10.000 m Hedrick lost more then 1 lap to the winner Sven Kramer. 1,95 is a splendid odd, becuz Elm specialises on this distance and belongs to the mondial top 12, while Hedrick should not even participate , he clearly didnt prepare himself properly.

Groves, K - Anschütz Thoms, D     +2.4

This one is about the 1.500 meter for Women.
During the last 3 international 1.500 meters, Groves skated a faster time than Anschutz. Groves literally always has a faster opening time, a faster 1st lap and a faster 2nd lap. Anschutz usually has a faster closing lap but the difference is not enough to skate a faster time..altough sometimes the gap can be small (within 1 second). This is no sure bet but I feel secure enough for 8/10 stakes.

>>something went wrong with the odd but it was 1.3

Hirako, H - Warsylewicz, J     +3.35
Thursday, March 06th, 2008 03:00
WinterSports - Other

Pick:  Hirako   Result: Not registered
Stake:  5/10   Odds:  1.00
Bookmaker:  Unibet   vCash: No

This bet is also about the 5.000 m for MEN.
Btw check results here >> http://www.isuresults.eu

During last world cup race there was almost no difference between those to skaters on the 5k. During the wc allround however Hirako was considerably faster (15 seconds+. Also Hirako skates in his homeland Japan, thats an important factor. (During the ec allround in Russia, the Russian skater Lalenkov had his best result of the year, Dutch sprinter Smeekens had his best results in Holland etc). Also Warsylewicz is a highly unstable skater with a few decent results (mainly in his junior years) but a lot more awful results.
1,67 is a nice odd to take with medium stakes.

>>something went wrong with the odd but it was 1.67

Verheijen, C - Dankers, A     +3
Thursday, March 06th, 2008 02:00

Stake:  10/10   Odds:  1.30

Last event of this speedskating season: world championships per distance in Nagano, Japan,
This bet is about the 5.000 meter for men. Will Verheijen skate a faster time than Dankers? Well, he usually does, and on top of that Dankers isnt performing too well this season. Verheijen had some injury problems but seems OK now. I know 1,3 odd isnt mucht, but it still is a value bet. Reasonable odd would be 1,2 or less.

Sablikova, M - Wüst, I 3.000 m women    +6

Sablikova, M - Wüst, I 3.000 m WOMEN

This one is about the World Championship Allround speedskating in Berlin, Germany.
Why would Wust skate a faster 3.000 m? Sablikova is the queen of long distances and has not been beaten on the 3k and 5k all season by Wust.
Wust will be glad if she doen's lose more than say 2 seconds on this distance. One thing bothers me: Wust skates in the last pair, so she will know the time that Sablikova skated and can focus on beating it with a tiny fraction.
But odd 1.75 is still a value bet!

>> odd is 2.25 now (15:08 dutch time cet +1)

Elm, S - Niedzwiedzki, K 1.500 m MEN speedskating

Last week in Kolomna Niedz. skated 1.47.35
Elm skated 1.48.24

In Calgary and Salt Lake City Elm was faster..but those 2 rinks are high altitude..Kolomna is not..Heereneen also is not.
It seems Niedzwiedzki accomodates better to low altitude icerinks than Elm..
that makes sense becuz Elm is Canadian , he is used to skate @ Calgary.
Niedz. is from Poland, Europa - only low altitude icerinks there.
Also Elm is a bit old, that will make it even harder to skate an acceptable last lap.
2.1 is wonderful value odd.

>>results http://www.isuresults.eu/2007-2008/worldcup/heerenveen1/

damn! elm was 0,10 sec faster

Bøkko, H - Skobrev, I 1.500 m men    +4.5

Bøkko, H - Skobrev, I 1.500 MEN

speedskating at the ice rink in Heerenveen (Netherlands)

Bokko will skate a faster time than Skobrev..
why?
it's simple: Bokko has a faster personal record on the 1.500 m
also a faster pr on 500 m
in other words: he's capable of generating more pace than skobrev.
also Bokko will skate a faster last lap. he won the 10.000 m last weekend in Kolomna (in Russia) to prove he has stayer capacities.

1.45 odd wll there's not much to win here but high stakes seem in place
